Shed the Stress, Shed the Weight - 1 Hour Workshop
Count your calories, eat fruits and vegetables, workout as much as possible and you too can lose all the weight you want! Unfortunately, this doesn’t work for many people, yet it’s what we are force fed daily on T.V., in diet books, and by many healthcare providers. For many years, I fell for this unrealistic trap too. I was always looking to exercise programs and diets to lose weight. Every shiny new program that popped up looked like it promised me the key to weight loss I’d been looking for. So much of my time, energy, and money were spent looking for an external fix. Focusing only on diet and exercise did three things:
-Drove me further away from listening to what my body truly needed
-Created more stress in my life, making it harder to lose weight
-Made me feel like a failure; like I didn’t have the willpower to succeed
Yes, exercise and nutrition are important to maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. However, in my work with clients I’ve found that reducing stress - particularly chronic stress - is the key ingredient to the weight loss equation. Eating all the vegetables in the world won't help you lose weight if your body and mind are stressed out!
