A Health Coach is a supportive mentor and wellness authority who works with clients to help them feel their best through food and lifestyle changes. Instead of prescribing one diet or way of exercising, Health Coaches tailor individualized wellness programs to meet their clients' needs.

Relationships, exercise, career, and spirituality are just as important to your health as the food you eat. Health Coaches understand this and take a holistic approach to supporting the whole person. Find out how health coaching stacks up against other health and wellness jobs.

Reclaiming Health

This time of year gives us a great opportunity to pause, be present, and check in with our routine. Are we putting our energy into the things that matter? Are we carving out time for ourselves to refill our bucket? Do we know our motivation(s)? I’ve had a little shift in my thinking recently that I want to share with you. It has been a little nutty around here getting moved into my new office, starting daycare, and  adjusting to a new schedule! Everything really seems to happen all at the same time, doesn’t it? Somehow when the seasons change, that also seems to signal life changes - going back to school, holidays, and so on. With a few crisp Fall days knocking on our door here in Michigan, have you noticed changes or challenges in your routine? Click title to read more!

There’s nothing like a new baby to make time stand still and disappear all at the same time. Luna is officially 8 weeks today and doing great! Spending time with her has been such a gift, but my brain is slowly shifting to work and all the exciting things I’m looking forward to professionally at Reclaiming Health! I eluded to some exciting news in my last newsletter, and I’m pumped to announce that starting September 1st, my new office will be at Firehouse Fitness and Wellness! Click title to read more!

I’ve been presenting a lot over the last few months on reducing stress, and last week someone said, “You’re so calm, good luck with that in labor!” Reminder: I’m 34 weeks now! W e’re getting close! This person’s comment was well intentioned, lighthearted, and I laughed it off. This is our first child and therefore will be our first experience with labor and delivery. Talk about stressful! However, it made me think about how we can change our perception of stress and learn how to embrace it instead of fearing it. Click link above for full article!

We’ve all heard of “spring cleaning” around this time of year as well. Maybe you’re planning to finally have a garage sale, tackle the basement or garage, clean out your closet, or just do a deep clean of all the nooks and crannies that have been lost to the dark side during the winter. What we don’t often think about decluttering is our minds. Good, restful sleep is by far the most important thing you can do for yourself on a daily basis. You can skip a day at the gym or treat yourself to dessert, but miss a night of sleep and whoa, the impact is immediate. The next day you can’t focus, have low energy, are less likely to stick to your routine, have a grouchy attitude, eat or drink “fake energy” to try to keep you going, and may even have a hard time falling asleep the next night because you’re so thrown off. I hope you enjoyed the holidays over the last few weeks! We were lucky enough to spent the last  week, including New Years, on the big island of Hawaii! Laying in the warm sunshine, eating delicious food, and exploring the island was incredible. It definitely made coming home to a foot of snow tough, but the time together to relax was just what we needed.

Even hundreds of miles away, it was hard to escape the buzz of resolutions for the new year. Click link above to read the whole article!
